1485 series American Axle Manufacturing U-Joint

• Fits 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 DODGE RAM 2500/3500 Front Axles
  • INSIDE "C" Clips to be used in 1485 series Front Axles 
  • A = 2.920 inches = The span between the yoke inner surfaces where the "C" Clips lock in.
  • B = 2.920 inches = The span between the yoke inner surfaces where the "C" Clips lock in.
  • C = 1.375 inch diameter with inside "C" Clips to lock the cap in place.
  • D = 1.375 inch diameter with inside "C" Clips to lock the cap in place.

AAM Universal Joints have extremely good seals on each cap and it is difficult to compress the caps onto the body all the way using only your hand.

We have included this information because many customers have had concerns that the u-joint appears to be too wide when it is actually the correct width.

• When you receive this u-joint you will notice that it appears wider than the posted dimension but if you compress the caps onto the body using a bench vise you will see that it is the correct width dimension. 
• Once you compress the caps onto the body you will find each cap has locked on and will require extra effort to remove the caps.  Please do this carefully so you do not damage the seals or lose any needle bearings.
• Compressing the caps is not necessary to install the u-joint into the driveshaft but we have included this information because many customers have had concerns that they do not have the correct part because it appears to be too wide.
