- 9.75 inch Ring Gear
- 12 Ring Gear Bolts
- 12 Diff Cover Bolts
- 31 Spline Pinion Gear
- 34 Spline Axles - Semi float C-Clip axles
- Exception: 2012 Raptor will be 35 splines
The Ford 9.75 inch axle is a bigger and stronger choice over the Ford Super 8.8 inch in light truck applications. The Ford 9.75 inch rear looks similar to the 10.25/10.5 inch Sterling. The Ford 9.75 inch rear has a 31 spline pinion and will have 34 spline C-Clip style axle shafts except the 2012 Raptor that will be 35 spline axles. Starting in 2011 the 9.75 inch ring and pinion gear set is different and requires different bearings. The older 2000-2010 gears can be put into a 2011 and newer housing and the 2011 and newer gears can be put into a 2000-2010 older housing using one of the 2 conversion bearing kits that give you the correct bearings to do the installation.
